Ed’s early career was with Chase Manhattan Bank in New York and various locations in Asia. During 7 years with Chase Manhattan, Ed worked with institutional clients as well as banking and investment management firms.
Later at McKinsey and Co., Ed focused on strategy development and execution opportunities for banking and mutual funds companies. Major initiatives included building investment advisory capabilities, mergers and acquisition work, post-merger operational integration, and new product launches.
In 13+ years at Charles Schwab & Co., Ed served as head of corporate strategy and later as Chief of Staff to the CEO. His operational positions included head of retail marketing and SVP for affluent client services.
Ed also served as managing director for HRJ Capital, a private equity fund of funds company. At HRJ, Ed expanded the investment management team and capabilities in venture capital, leveraged buy-out, real estate, and hedge fund product areas.
After leaving HRJ Capital, Ed has returned to his consulting roots working with brokerage firms, trust companies, and asset management firms at Silicon Valley Consulting.
He earned an MBA at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and an undergraduate degree from Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School. Additionally, he has completed post-graduate work at the Delhi School of Economics.
Ed lives in Aptos, California with his wonderful wife, Leslie.
