Connect•Work•Thrive Return to Work Conference

In an effort to deliver actionable strategies and information for Bay Area job seekers who are looking to re-enter the job market, today Refresh Your Career, LLC, an organization that provides skills and resources to people changing careers, announced its first Silicon Valley Connect•Work•Thrive Return to Work Conference. The all-day conference will take place Wednesday November 6th, 2013 at NestGSV, Inc. in Redwood City, CA.
The goal of the conference is to provide job seekers, who are returning to work after a career break — whether due to child or eldercare, layoffs, or other reasons — with practical tools to better market themselves in the fast-changing Bay Area marketplace. By attending the event’s workshops and presentations, attendees will be able to successfully:
- assess personal skills and determine applicable careers
- address the gap years on a resume and during job interviews
- determine necessary job search resources and how to leverage them to get a job
- maintain confidence during job search and dress for success
- identify and reach powerful job networks
Refresh Your Career founder Johanna Wise, a successful Silicon Valley entrepreneur and Stanford University Graduate School of Business graduate, explains her decision to launch the conference:
“After a successful career working for Bain & Company, Goldman Sachs, and PepsiCo, I took a career break to raise children. When I decided to re-enter the job market, I found that I needed to sell more than my degrees and previous work experience. The Connect•Work•Thrive Conference has recruited top-notch professionals to discuss these and other challenges of re-entering the workforce and provide attendees with the skills and resources to address them,” said Ms. Wise.
Event supporters include EMC, Bain & Company and Stanford University Graduate School of Business. The Early Bird ticket price is $249, $399 at the door. Refresh Your Career is also offering discounts for military veterans who are returning back to work and attendees who “bring a friend.”
