Connect•Work•Thrive Return to Work Conference Keynote will Focus on “Reengaging Your Life and Career”

San Mateo, CA, April 15, 2014

Refresh Your Career, LLC, an organization that provides skills and resources to people changing careers, announced that R Squared Resources founder and former Fortune 100 executive vice president Ruth K. Ross, will deliver the keynote, “Coming Alive: The Journey to Rengage Your Life and Career” at its Connect•Work•Thrive Return to Work Conference.

Engagement is what motivates people to not only feel dedicated to their job and their life, but to also feel rewarded by what they do and how they do it. It pushes people to look at things differently and go above and beyond, not because they have to but because they want to. Many employees leave jobs and even whole careers because they’ve become disengaged.

“With 70% of the workforce self-identifying as being disengaged and a significant number feeling that way in their personal lives as well, this isn’t an issue that should be taken lightly,” Ruth said.

During the morning keynote, Ruth will take attendees on a journey to understand the power of passion and commitment, pinpoint the underlying causes, recognize the symptoms, use her Invisibility Index tool to diagnose disengagement and most importantly, learn about the easy-to-use ALIVE treatment plan for reengagement.

Prior to starting R Squared Resources in September of 2011, Ruth was the Executive Vice President of Human Resources for the Corporate Finance organization at Wells Fargo Bank, managing all human resources activities for the company-wide finance community.  Her journey from New York City to San Francisco started in 1996 when she was recruited to join Charles Schwab as a senior HR leader for two business units, Investment Management and Retirement Plan Services. After two years in that role, Ruth created the company-wide HR Policies and Practices function, encompassing Employee Relations, HR Policy, HR Metrics and Pre-Eminent Employer Initiatives. During her tenure at Schwab, the company grew from 4,000 to 26,000 employees, and Ruth oversaw a major initiative to right-size the entire company following the dot.com bust and market downturn.
